That could be because I have 7 computers

It's always in a state of flux and complicated.

At this moment:

emu 1010 -> XR25 receiver w/ DIY power cord -> DIY speaker cables -> Magnepan MMG (modded input and DIY stands)
emu 1010 - (using CAT6)-> emu 1820m (modded) -> DIY interconnect (you know my "advanced" ones.
tongue.gif
) -> Ray Samuels Stealth (preamp input #1) -> DIY interconnect -> DIY monoblocks

2ndary preamp input will be from non oversampling DAC i'm working on right now. It's will use 8 TDA1543 DACs. It may go 1820m dock optical -> the DAC.

3rd input will probably be from my modded DI/O although it's on another computer at the moment that has Revo -> Stereovox HDXV -> DI/O. It uses another DIY powercord. I may do emu 1010 -> DWLabs DSP -> AES/EBU -> CO3 -> DI/O when it's in my system.

Movies:
Zoomplayer (with AC3filter, reclocker) --> RME PST --> (via ADAT optical) --> emu 1010. This is a way to get bit perfect movie watching.

TV:
LG 3100A HTDV box -> glass toslink -> GWLabs DSP (modded and DIY powercord) upsampling to 96khz -> XR25 -> RME PST.

My other movie box:
Sonica -> optical -> XR25 (or RME) -> emu 1010.

I have a file server in another room.

Power conditiong? 3 UPSes, 2 isolation transformers, 1 voltage regulator, 1 DIY balanced power unit, 1 DIY power filter.

I use tweaked V6s in the 1820m headphone jack. My DIY grados are terminated in RCA and hookup to my 1820m analog outputs (for now).

A strange setup but I can tackle many audio and video playback and editing tasks with great quality.

I have a Creative Audigy 2 NX 24 bit external USB Sound Blaster. I hope this is up to audiophile standards for computer audio. I am using grado SR80 headphones with it. Anyone have a comment? This is my first post. Ive been reading posts here for about 2 weeks or so.

Hey who cares if it up to "Audiophile standards" , if YOU are happy with it, that's what matters.

Don't those swans have a built in amp? Why do you need the fisher 400?

Yeah I dig the Maggies but they neeed a lot of power and are revealing of upstream components.

Whichever of these speakers you get, you really need a subwoofer.

i already have a fisher 400, just gotta find a way to renovate it (its not in the best shape according to my friend whos holding onto it, i havnt even gotten a chance to see it yet
redface.gif
)
yeah, swans do come with built-in amp... i could use the swans for about a year and sell them at about the price they sell it for now, so its like a free ride. but then if fisher 400 is capable of driving maggies i might as well do that instead..

Best to search audioasylum on how well or if the fisher can do it.

Tubes don't have the best bass and I feel it may posssible be too "soft" for the maggies.
