Long time reader, first time poster here. I'm posting to ask for your help...
Sometimes I just need to escape. That's what IEMs do for me.
I've been a faithful user of the etymotic hf5 for the last 5 years. Top-notch isolation and clarity have been terrific for when you need to close your eyes and just take a break from this world. But (1) they're wearing down and (2) their bass response has left me wanting for a while. I'd love a pair of IE800s, but here comes the final and most important problem—budget. I can afford to spend £80 to £150, max ($100-180). The Customart Music Ones are incredibly tempting, but just out of reach (esp. w/ shipping and UK ear impressions).
For £80-150, how much closer can I get to deep and immersive sound? Or are the HF5s the closest I'm going to get to isolation, soundstage, and accuracy for the money? Any advice greatly appreciated...
And thank whatever gods may be for music...
