ok, I posted last week some specifics of what I was looking for. That has been shaped to the following:

No amp. Open. Good sound. Around $100 at the high end. Comfortable.

I am leaning towards the Philips HP 890s. Does anyone know how I can buy or try these in the US (i saw then on meyer's but you have to request them, send MO, etc.)

What do you all think of these for my price range? Any other ideas before I buy?

Any advice on where I can buy some NEW ones (used if
i have to but really don't want used)?

Thanks again everyone.

Will

HI: My 890s should be here in a day or two. They are a great fun large sound-stage can but not the best cans fore the main rig. I will be using my 890s for a change off when I want a large sound stage and fun sound that I don't need to concentrate on and just relax and enjoy.

Grados (at least the SR60 and SR80) fit those except comfort. Meanwhile, the 890s make it look like you're ensconced in velvet. ^_^ I personally found the Grado comfort too lacking, and actually considered getting the 890s at one point. They look like great phones for the price range. Good luck with the purchase.

Where did you buy them and how much?
Thanks,

I sent an e-mail to meier. Not sure how to go about ordering them since I'm in US. Hopefully they'll reply quickly.
