Though I have never used the K1000s, I know that alot of those that do drive them with integrated amps. Have any of you considered the Rega Mira or Brio as options? I do not think that I have seen these models mentioned. They are both well rated, and are described as having a warm sound. On Audiogon, the Brio sells for $300-400 and the Mira for $450-600. These amps seem as if they would be a perfect, economical (relatively) way to drive the K1000s. Just an idea ...

I found solid state to be a bit on the bright side. Tubes are preferable, IMHO...but if you have an integrated amp with tone controls, it helps a lot.
