I'd rather not spend more then 70$ but if it's really worth it I can save for a couple of weeks.

It's going to be paired with my ipod. I am sort of happy with my MDRV6's but more and more I read these forums I get these urges (you know what im talking about). I know im missing alot from my music as I use torrentspy and havnt touched a real (music) cd in almost 4 years. But even with my mp3's I think I can do better then these sonys.

So im currently looking into either the KSC75/35's, e2c, ex71, or md33. I bought the MDRV6 as I read reviews criticising them about how accurate they can be (not fun) and with my music i really really try to focus on the lyrics so I thought it would be a good combination. Now however, I want some headphones that really expose those little details in the background. Like when I used the v6's i noticed all these other sounds in my music that i never noticed was there.. i want that again.

Maybe i should raise my budget?

edit: Also considering grado sr60 but i dont know how comfortable they are..

sr-60 comes with comfy pads, which are quite bearable. Itchy though at first. I wouldn't consider them if you plan on using the phones in a populated environment or a one that requires quiet (i.e. library). The long thick cord may be bothersome as well. As for sound, grados are quite revealing. But def. not true portables like the others you listed.

Truth be told, if you want accuracy and detail, the ex71's are not what you are looking for. The shure e2's are better, but you can still do better. I thik if you held out and got some etymotic er-6i's you'd be very happy for what you described as your wants. You can find them new for about $120 +tax/shipping. I am currently selling some for $105 shipped in the US. Don't take this as a shameless ploy to sell my pair though. They really are very detailed. I enjoy them very much, I just have the bug to try the er-4s', and it seems the only way to do that is to buy them. Plus, a positive for you (since you have the iPod - in your sig atleast) and a negative for me (since I have the H120) is that they are white. They match aesthetically, which isn't a necessity, but a nice touch. You should look into the boards general consensus and research them. If interested, give me a PM, especially if you just want opinions.

I've actually begun recommending against the er-6i. Not because they're bad, because they're white. Makes you a prime target for theft/mugging, because they know you're carrying a $400 electronic device.

- ER6i (good point about the mugging)
- MD33
- Grados aren't great for portable use - no isolation, plus you get strange looks

- I don't like the rolled off highs of the Shures, so I wouldn't get them myself.

I dont really like the idea of white head phones... not so much the mugging but because of everyone w/ there ipods and stock earbuds will have a white chord too. blah

and i am taking it as a shameless ploy ^_^

Since i consider myself a bargain bin shopper i think ill see how long i can wait tell I can find a good deal on some headphones. I think im going to test out the shure e2c until a good bargain comes up. Ill find out if guitar center has a 30 day return policy while i wait for a good deal.

IE er6 for 45$ or something of that nature.

Ill try to get ahold of the px100/200 aswell as I read some pretty good reviews of them.

I actually got a pair to use with my iPod (and because I would have shot myself if I'd passed up a $48 pair of ER-6s), they will be supplanting my Sony MDR-V6 (which are also great cans for the iPod- easy to drive, and a little bass-heavy, because the iPod is a little bass-light).
