does anyone know of a decent pair of affordable speakers? right now i'm using Radioshack branded ones, and they suck. Preferably something that can be bought in store. Less than $70 is the target. Anyone have suggestions?

Preferably not with an iPod dock, as I'm using an F20. If it does have a dock, it needs to come with the line-out wire.

maybe a little more expensive than your budget allows, but check out the klipsch promedia 2.0's, i hear they're satisfactory portable speakers.

good luck,

cheers

I was looking for some portable speakers a while back, but didn't find anything. Is there anything out there that is pocketable and runs off of batteries? Does the klipsch promedia 2.0 run off of batteries?

check out the creative travelsound 200.

the klipsch 2.0s can't run on batteries. i won't consider them as portable because they are huge for 2.0 speakers.

The JBL OnTour isn't bad, and from what I read in the reviews it's one of the better sounding units out there. You can find refurbs on ebay under $40, new ones go for about $100. It's small enough to fit in your pocket, but it's somewhat heavy so you won't want it there for long.

Thanks HiGHFLYiN9 for the JBL recommendation. They too look like a viable option.

The TravelSounds are great for portable use. I have used them in hotel rooms, on the beach, in the park, hiking and camping they work and sound great. If you’ll be using them a lot near a power source, make sure you get the version that comes with the power adaptor (the 300 I believe). Otherwise, you’ll be eating through “AAA” batteries.

If you want something more for stationary use, there are a million options out there that will deliver fuller sound.
