While i know that Minidiscs offer very nice qualiy with choice mics, i prefer macs...and as such i don't get the benefit of digital transfer via usb. i have an old minidisc player on it's last legs and i am reluctant to buy a himd recorder because if i spend some 300 dollars on a device..i would like to have all of it's functionality. if apple just put a freakin line in on the ipod and enabled cd quality recording i would buy the first minuete possible.

i am reluctant to buy an iriver because i just dont know enough about them i suppose, but they are looking like an alright option...beside the fact that i am not sure how well they work with itunes (my library is in itunes and organized by it.)

i have a sony ecm ms957...so i dont really care about the built in mic in whatever device i buy...

The new Sony HI-MD walkmen "MC10" and "MC100" have mac-compatible uploading features

Try looking at forums.minidisc.org for more info
