I'm keen on a new set of headphones for my ipod, but with so much variety I was confused which direction to go. I initially decided it was worth purchasing the Koss KSC75. Now, the more research I do the more I'm intrigued by canalphones, and since the Koss didn't put me too much out of pocket I'm really considering another purchase. I listen to hiphop, so I love my bass, and I do value comfort as well (I never liked earbuds because they could never sit it my ear). This same research highlights UE SuperFi 5EB as the best product for me in this catagory, but I'm afraid of spending that amount of money (AU$300) and then finding that I don't like canalphones. So what I'm after in the meantime is an example of a canalphone/IEM to get an idea of its feeling, and it'd be a bonus to get good bass performance, but perhaps within the AU$100 pricerange. Appreciate your feedback, cheers

Koss KSC75 are popular here. Radioshack has them for like $24.95 i think.
Koss Pro1 is also at Radioshack, and they call it the Pro35,and its $39.95 at Radioshack and $19.95 at Koss.

Both models use the 60 ohm Titanium drivers, but the Pro1 has more bass, and the KSC75 is more airy and open sounding,a little more highs and a little less bass, but very similar of course because the drivers are the same.

If you wait for a sale,Radioshack usually has the KSC75 for $19.95,and the Pro35 for $19.95.

At other stores like best Buy,Circuit City, Amazon.com, etc......
The JVC Marshmallows are a popular cheapie at arounf $15 or so.
Its good for some isolation.
Another inexpensive isolation phone is Sony EX71 for around $50 or so.
They sound pretty good for what they are,but some people might say to get Creative 300's or Sennheiser 400/500 (i think thats the models.).

It would help to now price range, musical tastes, sound tastes (basshead, detail freak, etc), and if you want isolation or not,and if headphone size matters to you also.

Appreciate your feedback, Drag0n, now my location is Australia so keep that in mind when recommending outlets and converting my budget into US$ =p I'm looking to spend less thsn AU$100 (<US$80), and canalphones have me intrigued. What I'm concerned about is, of course, comfort, as I've read that these can be uncomfortable. What I've noticed also is that the sony I linked to in my original post comes with an ear-clip hanger - I was wondering if this product can be purchased on its own and used with any canalphone, as I've seen some that are marketed without one? As i mentioned earlier, I listen to hip-hop and I love my bass (another vote for canalphones, from what I've read)! Appreciate your feedback and comments, cheers

Save your money and get either a MylarOne X3 or XB (if you like bass) from Jaben Singapore for ~US$60 including shipping. You can find their review all over the forum. As canalphone goes, both are much better than Sony.

Whatever you do don't even bother with the Sony clip-ons you posted in your OP. They may look good but are bassless, screechy, and unrefined. Imagine two pins in your ears blasting upper mids and treble. Especially $50 AUD (~$40 U.S.) is a ridiculous price. I wouldn't pay any more than say...$15 AUD for them.
