Here is an unusual portable lp player on Ebay. I hadn't seen one of these before. It is an Audio Technica Sound Burger....

I borrowed one off a friend about a million years ago.

VERY VERY VERY VERY LOUD PLAYER!!!!

TOtally blew Walkmans of the day away in a puff of smoke.

Sounded superb when compared with cassette walkmans - player actually worked well and coped with some fairly warped LP's.

You cannot walk with it though - that's a joke. Player needs to be on a flat surface. I don't think it's worth the e-bay price though - original retail was about £40 on this if memory serves.

That e-bay price would buy you a much better turntable - look for an old Dual 505, Thorens, Rega, SystemDEK or even the classic Japanese decks from the 70's like the Pioneer SL-12 - an outstanding deck.

I've always wanted one of these, but they always go for around 200$

For that much, i think i'd rather just go with a thorens.
