first of all, sorry for my english, im Italian but ill try my best.

I'm gonna buy a portable amp for my iriver h120 + mylar X3

I've read a lot here on the forum, and i'm searching for the real portable amp.
What do you think, tomahawk or SMIV ?

There is a nice price difference, and that could be (for me) a " +1 " for the SMIV

If size does matter to you, the Micro is THE way to go.
And also the sound is top class.

But one thing you got to remember is the waiting time when ordering from Dr. Xin. It easily can be many, many months of waiting time.

Xin is currently developing his Reference amp so he hasn't shipped any amps for 6 or 7 months now. I suggest you buy both. You'll get the Tomahawk to tie you over until your Supermicro arrives.

No, Xin is "a bit special" in that regard. Other manufacturers, like Ray Samuels or Jan Meier, tend to ship right away.

I asked about "any Xin product" , but tnx, i get the point.

well, actually i was not thinking about "buy a first amp, order a second, enjoy the first, get the second, sell the first, enjot the second"

so i think i'll look around, for a used one, or i'll join the "waiting list"
