I was investigating some good quality headphones and came across the AKG Q701's. They sounded great but I read somewhere that I would greatly benefit from using an amp when listening to them with my iPhone. I stumbled upon the FiiO E6. Would the AKG's and E6 go nicely together? I am also looking at getting a pair of Klipsch Image X10 as my main in ear's.

The Fiio E11 and E12 would be more appropriate for the Q701's.
 
I would lean towards the E12 if you can, it will future proof things and give you a lot more overhead.

well I don't want to spend that much for E12 and I read A LOT of reviews about the E11's breaking easily.
