I have 3G iPod and Sennheiser 280 Pro's. Also use Sennheiser ear buds. May get IEM's in future but thinking I will get more bang for buck at this point from amp. Will aslo use to listen throgh my laptop while traveling but mostly with iPod.

Been looking at:
Airhead
Bithead
Headroom Micro
Tomahawk
Headphonia
Headphonia Micro

I realize there's a big spread from airhead to Tomahawk/Micro. I'm actually leaning towards the Headphonia for price/performance. Can someone help me with my decision?

I can heartily recommend the mSEED LABS Spirit AMP. A well balanced amp in terms of build quality, features and price. The sound quality is excellent at that price point. I guess in the end it will come down to budget as of course the Tomahawk is a great little amp.

Wow! That Spirit Amp looks sweet. Basic design with high level compoments. And at $149 is less than others on my list.

Thanks for the tip mercbuggy!

A lot will depend on how much you want to spend and size of the amp. If you are considering sound only then the to 5 IMO are:

1. Supermicro IV
2. LaRocco PRII MkII
3. SR-71
4/5. Porta Corda MkIII or TTVJ Millet Portable Amp

Of the above the smallest is the Supermicro IV and the cheapest is the Porta Corda MkIII ($160). Although the Supermicro IV at $182 is not much more. Good luck.
