If you happen to run across a deal on the WD My Passport terabyte HDD, I would not be deterred by the SES driver.
The SES driver is not required for the drive to be recognized by your computer.
Windows will prompt if you want to install drivers, just leave it alone.

I use 2 TB WD Passports as simple drag and drop external Windows storage,no install problems using it on an internal powered USB 3.0 connection.
If you choose to install you get this type of stuff to enhance the HDD capability:
WD SmartWare—Automatic, continuous backup software works quietly in the
background to help protect your data using minimal PC resources. Whenever you add or
change a file, it is instantly backed up.
WD Security—Set password protection and hardware encryption for your drive to
help protect your files from unauthorized use or access.
WD Drive Utilities—Register your drive, set the drive sleep timer, run diagnostics, and
more using WD Drive Utilities.
