Portable Digital Transport That is Not a Phone?

I'm ok with battery powered devices - the M11 does a decent job of driving my Z1Rs for instance. But yes, dongles means you do save money due to versatility - if it sounds as good as say a Hiby R6 2020. Unfortunately I do not think it'll sound as good as the M8, DX300 etc - though I'm just waiting for people to sell get bored and move on to the newest toy and grab a flagship DAP then, lol.
I'm likewise "ok with battery powered devices" too....because I have to be, hahahaha. It is what it is: if I don't want to be tethered to a spot with desktop gear, I need battery powered. I just refuse to pay the flagship-level prices; this is definitely a case of "can pay" versus "willing to pay" above a certain amount (arbitrarily set, admittedly) for a device with a degrading-over-time power source. Things get more complicated for me since I also don't want to use my phone as a transport or source.

Anyway, I'm gonna watch threads like this for more mentions of any emerging tech/new gear. I totally forgot the XDuoo X10Ti even existed until I came across this thread. Given the explosion of quality dongles, I'm somewhat surprised it remains (I think?) the only device of its kind.

I needed some help to find those devices, that;s why I started this thread even. Glad you found it helpful.

The other thing is, I think that quality gear sometimes just need more space. Either for bigger caps or better layout. A larger chasis gives the designer more freedom and space to work with. Dongles being what they are just isn't quite up to the game.

I'd say that even if dongles don't compete with bigger stuff, they still can sound great for their price!

hey everyone! So it's 2023, are the only options for a portable pure transport device STILL just Tempotec V1 and Xduoo X10t ii ? or are there other promising devices ?

I own the V1 and I wanted to get an extra unit, but it looks like it's out of production. or at least it's out of stock for stores that I can access. The Xduoo X10t ii just looks dated to me since I got used to the V1's touch screen.
