I use a 512GB card in mine. No problems.

Big $$ on DAPs is something I'd prefer to avoid, especially if quality options like this exist.

A small affordable DAP used as media storage and connected to a DAC/amp device is a very appealing alternative to large expensive DAPs considering cost, of course as long as you're fine with using two or three products stacked :)

.. also: you can still use the X10T in the car or with other audio devices (BT speaker, wireless headphones) via Bluetooth.

Thank you for reminding me this device exists! I am evolving my daily routine, and now, such a device is slowly starting to make sense for me. Hopefully, they keep developing this, as the current, I believe, max TF card support of only 256GB is kind of a bummer especially.

In any event, I have some homework to do to determine what kind of portable stacked system based on this device is capable of. Big $$ on DAPs is something I'd prefer to avoid, especially if quality options like this exist.
The Xduoo X10t ii with say the L&P W2 would be a highly capable offline system....

Stacked, my dreams. I mean, each to their own usage, good DAPs are expensive, but if you don't mind stacking them to make a better cost to performance ratio at the loss of portability, iFi has an appealing line. @feverfive

Really am looking at something more like an iFi dac, sized like a large pencil case can give the manufacturer more space to work with to make the sound better at the same price but smaller price.

Fair point - though the hip-dac also includes a battery and i guess there is still a drive to go towards a dongle. But maybe someone will embrace a slightly bigger size and push the boundary a bit.

Thanks. We're really happy how i.e. our X-range turned out and what it does upon stacking.

I think the iDSD is more of my size, since I need to beat or stand on the same level is 220MAX. And I think the nano iDSD also has batteries? I will just bring an external one if it doesn't lol.

This is the specific setup that had crossed my mind. Assuming it exceeds sound quality threshold (meaning: sounds at least as good as a mid-priced DAP), that combo is relatively very cost-effective.

I need to give it some more thought. I am simply loathe to paying anywhere near flagship DAP levels for battery-powered audio devices. The W2, of course, being bus-powered, could also be swapped into use with my laptop when I work from home; something like the Xduoo X10t could be readily available for me to quickly use as a portable digital transport w/ the W2 when I'd need/want to move around.

I think a plan is starting to come together for me, hahahaha.

I'm ok with battery powered devices - the M11 does a decent job of driving my Z1Rs for instance. But yes, dongles means you do save money due to versatility - if it sounds as good as say a Hiby R6 2020. Unfortunately I do not think it'll sound as good as the M8, DX300 etc - though I'm just waiting for people to sell get bored and move on to the newest toy and grab a flagship DAP then, lol.
