Has anyone considered using something like

http://www.fida.com/products/pbr301.htm

To help integrate their mobile audio setup? Wireless is interesting to me, mostly because as a cyclist, wires sometimes get in the way and get snapped. I haven't seen any bluetooth headsets that offer decent ergonomics, and I find it hard to believe that things like the iMuff have decent sound.

What I want is a bluetooth device so I can transfer stuff to my MP3 player without wires, that would be sweet.

Too expensive, and the pink ones look horrid. But the real question is: How do they sound?

"Too expensive"
Yeah, I guess that can be true.

"Look horrid"
True, but that's not the final design.

"Sound"

Better than bluetooth and RF. Cnet says they sound excellent.

1. You only get so-so solutions with BT built in
2. if you can connect your own phones to a BT-receiver you again have cable
3. dang, you cannot even amp these things!

4. another dang battery to keep track of

Now if say Etymotic came up with BT phones that would *not* suffer from audio-compression and lasted some 15hours on a single charge... I imagine an over the ear system that locates the tech/battery behind the ear as with hearing aids... all that would be missing is switchable crossfeed on the transmitter and we could talk about it. I'm not paying extra for less convenience & quality.

I'd even be happy with a full headset style that didn't blow, although it wouldn't do much to help my riding-the-bike situation, it

Cables through the shirt are doing OK for right now, but the idea is to not have a thin cable running through my sweaty crevices. I'm interested by those Micro phones, but I'll go ahead and do a big 10-4 on the ugly.

Not sure what you're using for headphones, but I solved my cable issues by:
  1. Running the cable from the Carbon on my waist up my back (outside of my clothing)
  2. Putting a piece of adhesive velcro around the cable where it splits to go to the two earpieces
  3. Putting a mating piece of adhesive velcro on the back strap of my bike helmet
  4. Using KSC-35s, the ultimate biking/workout headphone
Cable is the perfect length. It lies across/along my back with just enough slack that I can take the player off my waist to change music. The velcro system eliminates all pressure of the cable on the earpieces.
