Hi all, I'm looking for advice about the source for Aeon 2 headphones.
I've ordered Aeon 2 Noire and not sure if a combination of WM1A + Orilolus bs300A is enough for this headphone? I thought about drop thx aaa 789 as a solution for the home but ofc I prefer to save money and have portability if my dap+amp is enough for Aeon 2.
Thank you in advance.

What you already have should be powerful enough. I can run the Aeon RT to very loud volume on just a Fiio BTR5.
Oh, it would be wonderful if it will be enough. I've read plenty of topics and opinions that loud volume is not the only factor that should be taken into account. More power - more control, but I'm not sure about it cuz a newbie in audio. I guess the best option is compare portable source with THX 789 in A/B tests, but I don't have the possibility to do it without buying THX :(

Looks gorgeous but jeez it weighs 3 kg. It far away from portability :) I guess for Aeon 2 it will be overhead a bit, but tnx for the link - never saw such a device before

It is a transportable and definitely not portable. As with the exact dimensions as a large book, you can nickname it the Shanling MyBook M30. ;)

Ahah, your suggestion sounds much better and humane than

SHANLING - M30 MODULAR DESKTOP HI-FI STREAMING PLAYER AND DAC/AMP

I use the iBasso DX300 dap with my Noires and they pair extremely well! The default Amp outputs around 1.5 Watts into 32 Ohms.

Excellent low end, smooth mids and energetic treble. Moreover both the sound stage and Dynamics are close to my main Chord stack and M30 setups so you won't be missing much. It's such an enjoyable listen.

If you're looking for a separate portable Amp only, you can save money by exploring the Romi Audio BX-2 Plus which outputs around 5.9 watts into 32 Ohms and could power my Abyss 1266 TC and Heddphones easily. It's a transparent balanced Amp that could be bought for around $700 USD. :)

Powerful dap my Sony + oriolus have only 700 mW into 32 Ohms. :frowning2:
But it good to know that the portable player is enough to drive them.

Final candidates are Centrance m8 2, iFi bl, xduoo xd05 plus. Dunno if Centrance and iFi worth x 3,5 money...
