IMHO the Ie8 doesn't improve much with amp. When I had ie8, I had it paired with Corda xxs/headsix. I felt that volume was about all I gained with it. The ie8 sound great right out of ipod classic imo. There was maybe a very slight improvement with amp..but not worth the bulk/$. Can't comment on the ibasso amps however.

@ Del Griffith: do you have lossless in your ipod or simple MP3 files? could you compare sound from ipod (not imod) with mp3 files and lossless music if is there a huge difference if any.

thank you very much for all posts

Most all of my music is done in 320 ripped from my own cd's in itunes. The others are 256 bought from itunes. Both ways are aac not mp3. I am one of those people that don't have the stellar discerning ear as some others here do. I couldn't tell a huge difference with lossless compared to 256 or 320. Not enough to warrant ten times the space of lossless. Therefore I just use 256 and 320...plenty happy with it. Sorry I couldn't help more. Someone else could maybe though??? Good luck.

BTW: 10 times bigger with lossless was just a guess-t-ment...don't know the real size diff...just know it's alot.

P3+ works good. Use the BUF634 to tighten the bass.

im not sure if the head6 can, but the p3+ can change both L/R G/V and buffers, which can fix some of the sound issues that you MAY have with an IE8
