Hi forum members
I have DT 770 pro 80ohm and cowon j9. J9 doesnt have enough power for my headphones. I had also fiio e11 and I was using these 3 together but my e11 is not working any more. I sent email and said I want to pay difference buy another product.
So I can only choose fiio products. Can you help me choosing the best option?

And couple of questions,
What is the difference between dac and normal amp? What is exactly dac?
I learnt that cowon players doesnt have a line out so it is gonna be double amped. Is it a problem? If its a problem I can use my phone as music player.

A DAC is a digital to analog converter. It takes the digital signal from say a cd or MP3 and converts it to analog which goes to speakers or headphones because that is the way we hear things via analog sounds It will not power anything without a amp connected to it. I don't know Cowon players but most DAP's have line outs. Just checked it out and it looks like no line out that is bad for you sorry to say. Double amping is not the best choice by no means. I'm not a phone expert knowing if some have line out. It sounds like you were double amping before if you used those 3 together though. Unless you were wanting video playback a X1 would work for you. Though I believe you would still need a amp to power your headphones but I could be wrong there as I have not tried that setup.

Thanks for the first reply. Yeah I was double amping and I wasnt aware of that. Now I dont want to do that. So as I understand I need a player with line out and amp. If I buy X1 I need to buy an amp too. I cannot spend that much. Is there any player that doesnt require amp?
