Anyone have a good suggestion for a high quality am/fm portable player out there? The most important thing to me would be a small size and excellent reception. Thanks!

The Sangean DT-210V does well at receiving stations both AM and FM.
The Sony SRF-M97 is very small but reception qualities are not as good as the DT-210V. It does have better sound than the Sangean, in my view, though. The Sangean's high notes are a bit rolled off, in comparison.

Xin's modified Sony is supposed to be the best compact AM/FM radio out there... http://fixup.net/products/index.htm
