Nice to see a PT thread resurrected...might have been this thread that got me listening to them a few years back.  I have since collected and digested most all of their albums.

For those that want to check out earlier PT albums I would highly recommend "Up the Downstairs" and "Signify"

Been listening to some PT earlier, but just now I am starting to get into it. Fear of a Blank Planet is such a great album!

Thats the album that brought me in first.  I stumbled onto FOABP on browsing around iTunes listened to the preview, bought the song and the rest was history...

The more I delved into hi-fi headphones and related gear, the more I kept seeing the name "Porcupine Tree." I listened to see what all the fuss is about. They kicked off my love for various Progressive bands (Spocks Beard, Opeth, Gentle Giant, etc...) At the time of discovery, I found myself getting frustrated with mainstream rock, as most of it was stale and uninspired. Lots of great music to be found when you wander off the beaten path.
