It looks like one of the advertisers is using popup ads.  I have not seen that before on this site.  It may not be against terms of service, but it is very strange when using the mobile site as the popup creates a new full-screen window half-filled with the ad, with no simple way to dismiss.  I've had it happen several times on mobile, and fewer times on the regular site, even if I am checking subscriptions.

I noticed it on my iPad...annoying.
This is the link: http://a.tribalfusion.com/p.media/a4mQ8ypr3E0sUR1sY40cvNnT7T3UURTFfBW6MVPqbXSsvrPWZbr1t7sW6ry2cvUXUUZdUPqo2P38Q6JA2WZbM1HrZanHiN3PvY3cQgUVJ8VsMePPUyWWM3UrfY5bEmWajpVan8QTnZaQV3ZbQrenSt38UVM54U6nod6OXa6p3WvHSVbG5PJZbptPnTHF8XFU7YUj9XdeGsLZcxjR/4039316/pop.html

I saw it when I was logged in -- on the mobile site, it was when I was using the sidebar on iOS to check subscriptions.  The popup was a new window in mobile Safari.  It was particularly strange in that I know I did not click on any button or ad on the site while doing this, but I was leaving a webpage so that might be another clue.

I've clicked on the link GrindingThud posted and the shape of the image is identical to what I saw (like a 16-by-9 ratio rectangle).

Same setup here, mobile iOS, safari, logged in. Asked for a pop up, I declined, it opened a new tab.

I'm getting these ads on mobile. It's a pretty bad experience.

Seconding this. It only happens sporadically, but it just happened when I focused on the edit area of the Reply box in a thread.

At this point it's more like click hijacking than a badly designed popup ad.

I'll post URLs and screens next time it happens. But I can say that so far the advertiser has always been Experian.
