Wow!
After the first playing I just had to listen to the Rach Concerto 2 times last night.
She is simply amazing!
Watching her hands closely I can see that he can just barely reach those very stretched fingers, intro chords. But they sound better than I have ever heard them before ,and all through the piece she is just as amazing in the fireworks sections as she is poetic in the other parts.
And the very refined accompaniment by the LSO with MTT together with her wonderful Musicality, make this the best performance I have ever heard of this concerto which can sound almost like cheap film music with some,, but NOT here!
