Friday March 19th - The RTÉ NSO LIVE perform Boulogne and Brahms

Paul Herriott presents from the stage of the National Concert Hall, Dublin, where the musicians of the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra and a host of Irish soloists will present a season of LIVE concert programmes. Tonight, Martín continues with two orchestral firsts from one of the greatest composers of the 19th century, Brahms, and one of the greatest composers you've probably never heard of: Joseph Boulogne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges. Boulogne’s First Symphony, a work of enormous charm, vitality and elegance that was said to have influenced Haydn and Mozart, can be heard alongside Brahms’ First Serenade.

Joseph Boulogne: Symphony no. 1 in G
Brahms: Serenade No. 1 Op, 11

RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra
Jaime Martín (conductor)
Intro starts at 2' 30''
