I am not qualified (personal assessment) to critique one orchestra’s performance over another (recording quality not withstanding).

Yet I find “Hollywood Bowl Symphony Orchestra” Christmas Classics album to be a stand out.

The energy is such that I sense the shear joy and fun of the musicians.

I had childhood exposure to classical and have been a nominal fan most of my life.

After purchasing quality DAC & headphones, I fell in love. A year or two ago, John Franks made suggestion (Stravinsky) which opened exciting new doors. Adding good speakers and the inspiration from the many videos here combined w 3 month trial from Qobuz —well, it’s hard to describe how great this is in bringing me to new music & performances.
