Hi all. This is a quick, testing-the-waters poll asking which of these two DACs you think would be better
1. Musical Fidelity X-Dac V3 (without additional PSU)
2. Citypulse DA7.2x (with TXCO upgrade)

The X-Dac V3 D/A architecture:
Burr Brown DSD1792 24 bit Delta-Sigma DAC
Burr Brown SRC4192 Sample Rate Converter
Dual differential
8x oversampling 192kHz
Frequency response 10Hz to 20kHz
S/N Ratio > 121dB 'A' weighted
Channel separation > 110dB 20Hz to 20kHz
Audio output at digital 0dB level 2.2VRMS at 1kHz nominal

The Citypulse DA7.2x D/A Architecture:
PCM1796 D/A converter
Cirrus Login CS8416 S/PDIF receiver
Discrete Class-A output stage
Audio output 2.0v (1kHz, 0dB)
S/N Ratio 113dB
Dynamic range 116dB
Frequency response 15Hz - 58kHz
24-Bit/192kHz

X-DAC v3 is a higher quality product. There's one on AudiogoN right now, you might want to snap it up before it goes. I just ordered my X-DAC v3 brand new, still waiting for it to come in. They have been discontinued though, so you may have trouble finding a new one. I just got lucky, one of the last shipments.

mrarroyo - not sure about the Citypulse pulse....strange thing actually. Some places have it for around $900; but I have seen it listed at others for around $350!

Let's see. A DAC from a well established manufacturer that has a reputation for outstanding sound quality, excellent reliability and customer service. Or a DAC from some no name Chinese manufacturer with a reputation for what???

This is a difficult decision?

I got lucky and got a great deal for a new one. May I suggest you contact Music Direct and see if they have a demo/used one for sale.
