So which of these candidates could best be described as being smoother sounding (slightly less forward or harsh) in the upper mids/lower treble region (~past 1khz) while still maintaining about as much or slightly more bass (if IE8's are considered to definitely have too much bass imo)?
I think the TF10s aren't that fatiguing and harsh at all (at least for my ears). It brighter than the SE530s (it has that extended highs) but I like 'em better.
I vote 1st Triple Fi. and vote Second Westone 3.
The TF10 is great with the Highs, and sometimes I agree that it is very smooth on the mids, but every now and then I wish the Mids were more forward in certain areas. I think It has alot to do with what freQ range the singers voice falls into.
i know i sound like a fanboy, but i think that the triple.fi are too weak to be counted as smooth, i had to sell mine after using them for 6 months, and coming from the Atrio M5´s, the armature sounded sharper and faster but at the same time, it didnt have thickness and force that made music enjoyable,
the IE8 on the other hand... i guess i just like it hot and thick
