I am trying to make a 3.5mm to RCA IC, however, I
am not sure if the tip/ring correspond to L/R or is it the other way around.

Thanks for your help.

You should use a Digital Multi Meter (DMM) for that type of task. That is, you check for continuity.

If you don't have a DMM, here's a source. I suggest that you get the ones that sell for $30 or more. Quality? Great! I have two Web-tronics meters, and they both work very, very well.

Take a look...

Thanks for reminding me. I do have a DMM, it's just I am trying to make a 3.5mm to RCA IC from scratch, so I have nothing to measure as a reference.

I went to the Web-tronics site and they had this deal: Buy $50 or more and get a free $30 dmm meter. So I ordered the MY980, which was on sale $30 off the reg. price of $89, and got the model #3900 dmm free! I thought the freebie was goin to be one of those mini dmm's but it turned out be a full size dmm. Not too shabby!

Thanks, gariver.
