I have run dry in the search for new selections in this trashy fun genre.

So far, I have picked up the usual suspects:

Fischerspooner
Ladytron
Chromeo
Peaches
Ms. Kitten
Client

The deep synth sound of 'spooner, Ladytron, and Client I find extra appealing.

Any recommendations?

Why dont you go back to the beginning and get "Looking For the Perfect Beat" discs 1-4. It has a lot of stuff that influenced electroclash. A great collection with a little bit of everything to keep you happy for a while.

I almost forgot get Gary Numan/Tubeway Army "The Pleasure Principle". Awesome album very faux futuristic 80's stuff. They guy is obssessed with robots.

I love Gary Numan, Kraftwerk..etc and own Perfect beat 1 I think? Not sure, it is buried somewhere.

Always a good idea to explore the influences, but I am looking for some modern interpretations. I have also checked out some Larry Tee comps.

I sincerely appreciate the suggestion.

Sorry Viro, I own most of the stuff you listed. Have you picked up
"Mantronix The Album" yet?

No, I haven't, just ordered it. Thanks for the suggestion. So you are at a loss when it comes to the newer stuff?

Apparently, Electroclash had its heyday around 2k in the New York queen scene. I am speaking of this derivative - not 80's electro.

I have heard some underground stuff which bears the usual poor recordings and amateurish mix work equated with early techno. My interest lies in better mastered mid to major label stuff.

Adult. is fun.

The Faint. Especially Danse Macabre and Wet from Birth. Must.

Little Computer People -- synthpop in the Kraftwerk style.

The Hacker with and without Miss Kittin.

Alright, thank you Dusty!

I ordered:

Adult - D.U.M.E.
The Faint - Wet from Birth [enhanced] to get me started.

I couldn't find any Little Computer People; shall search more thoroughly in a couple of days.

Anyone else want to help get an electroclash junkie in the groove?

Faint -- get Danse Macabre. Adult. -- their first two albums are better. Sorry. But yeah, if you don't like the vocals, stay away, she does the mock Austrian thing pretty well, don't you think? (They're from Detroit, I believe.)

Yeah, but that's not electroclash, now, is it?

What is Electroclash anyway? I assume that technically it is the more clubby stuff like Larry Tee and Fischerspooner. Of course, like so many other terms, the definition has spread to cover about any new new new wave synth pop or whatever the hell they call it.

Anybody want to set me straight?

Dusty, you know of a place on the net where I may find Little Computer People?

Looks like the ol' cc is going to be busy tonight with all the recs.

New Order? Never heard of them.

Yeah, I guess electroclash is that retro 80's synthpop/new wave sounding stuff.

I got my copy of LCP at EAR/Rational.
