Has it been done before??

For fun today I tried it out with my portable CD player - the sony DEJ1000. I set the amp to tube preamp, and fooled around with it a bit (with the new update you can shut the amp off entirely, which worked as well). To my surprise it actually sounded decent.

Only problem is, the input (normally for guitar) is mono. I don't suppose there's any way to convert it to a stereo input?

If you use your computer as a source and connect your pod via the USB connection, you can use it as a sound card. IMO, it doesn't sound as good as a purpose-built sound card, but it's convenient just to practice with backing tracks, etc. BTW, the sound DOES come out in stereo when piped through USB.

I'm using my POD XT as my sound card for my computer and music listening from mp3s. I find that the quality is way better than my on board sound card.

Is the Pod XT a good headphone amp for the HD650 or maybe the Denon 2000?
