Wow. Listening to this little bugger with a phils new discrete buffer for it, a mini diamond buffer for the pocket, suprisingly has all the same slam and just about all the detail of the original diamond buffer in a bite-size, id say its about 85 percent of one.

Listening with HD580, 650s, Grado HP1's, CD3K's, Modded v700's. It sounds killer on all, what amazes me on all, is the amount of slam, speed(attack some call it) on the phones. More Impressions to come.

Serious Upgrade from the BUF634s.

EDIT : This is someones amp im listening to that just came back for some gain adjustment it seems, ETY user methinks. Its got 8610s in it, but im enjoying the 627s more in it right now, seems to be meatier, ill need to try the LT1122s on a browndog if i can find one around here.

I know nothing about op-amps, but if they sound better why wouldn't they be implement into the original design? Is it just the combination of the buffer and these op-amps? Or are the 627's rare or really expensive or something. Just curious. I actually really want a pocket reference, but I wanted to hear some impressions on the new buffer as well as a comparison between it and the SR-71. I actually didn't think initial impressions would come this quick, I just bought a 6800 GT tonight
