PMs "sent" not storing information?

Can anyone help me clear this up? It's not saving things to sent when I send them and I am having trouble remembering who i have sent things to, and what I have said (must be getting old..).

Make sure "Save a copy of this message in my...." are ticked before you submit the message. Apart from that I don't see any reason why its not there, or know any way to find out who you sent to.
