I just got the Oppo 970HD cdp and am using it as a transport to the Lavry DA10, using the coax as the connection between the two. In the Oppo, I set the PCM output to 96KHz. On the Lavry, I have PLL set to "Crystal".

When I'm playing a CD, the received rate on the Lavry just shows 44.1 and the greeen lock light is on. Shouldn't it goto 96? I've tried "Narrow" on the Lavry as well. Same thing.

Does anything in the Oppo manual say that it re/upsamples 44.1 kHz to 96 kHz when you set it as above.......or does that setting actually define the maximum rate that will be transmitted, not the only rate that will be transmitted?

I'm guessing a bit here, but I think it's the last one......it will only transmit the same rate as the source, unless you had it set for a lower rate than the source....and in that case, it would downsample to the lower rate.
