"Hi, my name is Rich, and I'm a basshead."

I'm looking for some BASSY phones
some requirements for the phone:

1. Easy to drive (low impedance)
2. Around $100 or lower.
3. BASS: some descriptions of the kind of bass i want. "HOLY****BASS", deep, thunderous, pounding, slammin', "can feel the vibrations in my skull bass"

Does the sony v6/7506 fit my criteria?
Does the PortaPro fit my criteria?
Which phone is bassier?

Any recommendations or ALTERNATIVES to these phones is highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Get some Sony V600.
They have so much bass that it will drown out everything else.
The V6 will only let you hear the rest of the music.
It seems that you don't want that.

Why don't you buy a subwoofer and strap it to your ear? Just kidding.

As bootman said, the v600's seem to have what you want: bass. Unfortunately, they are incompatible with any form of music. The only sound that comes out is bass.

You can use any, just get an EQ and flat everything out but the last two octaves and you are set....!!!!!

Why don't you try some PortaPros. They will give you some of the bass you are looking for and aren't too expensive. And with the PortaPros, you just might hear some other details in the music that might like.

definately go with the koss
deep and impactful bass and yet still let you hear the rest of details very well. It's either porta pros, ksc-35 or ksc-50 , or ksc-55
Your preference. All house the same driver(translate to same sound), only different shape.

why not?
I am a basshead and I have owned ety er-4p before. And the reason why I sold them was not because of their lack of bass. I just couldn't get the right fit and it was too troublesome for me to get them in right. SO I decided to go for a full sized cans

And yes.. I owned dt770pro.. the bassking!!

no... i think there's a difference between someone who craves bass and someone who uses descriptions such as

bassmonsters
holy****bass
deep, thunderous, pounding, slammin' bass
can feel the vibrations in my skull bass
and BASSY in all caps.

or am i just misunderstanding the above descriptions?

[edit] it's the difference between "want quality and quantity in bass" and "i want bass and bass is the only thing that matters in music" i feel... and er-4p somehow doesn't fit quite well with the latter...

I thought the V6 had too much bass and treble (harsh). But my little bro loves them. Of course, he only listens to rap and everything else is crap to him.

So I gave him the V6.

reminds me of one of my friends.

he loves the ex70. he only listens to hip hop/rap.

he thinks my etys are just ok and same with my senn 600s at the time.

*sigh*

but to each his own... i can't complain or denounce the bassheads wanting bassmonsters.

i was just pointing out the irony of the etymotic in his profile.
