Hi!
I have received a MKIII the 5 feb, so it is a very new thing and I have around 26 hours of use on it. I had and used portable headphone amps and was satisfied. they did the job...

Yesterday for the first time I listened to a movie through headphones, a very simple rig, an RCA cable from the audio out of the DVD player to the RCA in of the MKIII, then to Sony 7509HD headphones. I will not BS in saying this is the best score ,etc... but the experience was very pleasant and the sound was very well divided and it was really interesting. So the MKIII did a nice job there.

As regards music, it is the same. The sound is suppose to improve up to the 50-100 hours mark, but if it stayed like it is now I would have no problem.

There is a difference between portable amp and this amp. The sound is much more solid, more bass, it has a huge soundstage also. It renders well all the music listened.

I am over the "getting impressed" stage, as I am enjoying what I listen, if you see what I mean.

Also Penchum as written many reviews concerning the LD amps, so check them out here and also the site little-dot.com

regards,

Hi Goraman, Sorry I missed this post, I've been too "involved" in other areas lately.

The new replacement model for the LDII++, called the MKII, has been reviewed and is an excellent tube amp. You should check it out before deciding on the MKIII. There is nothing bad, wrong or negative about the MKIII, I just want you to get a "full" picture of the line-up, starting with the MKII. Here is a link to my review: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f5/rev...re-amp-284835/

If you have questions, post them in the review thread and the nice folks there are glad to help.
