Please Help

I've been changing my plans on what I'm thinking about doing for my first Hi Fi set up about every hour or so it seems, I think this may be my last stop so your guy's input is greatly appreciated.

I have a Compaq Presario desktop that is probably about 4 years old. I was looking at the Fubar III DAC/HP AMP, if I add this to that desktop, what, if anything will happen? Will I need to buy a better internal sound card? I was going to purchase a Marantz CD5001 as my source but now I'm not sure. Will the computer and the Fubar be a smarter choice then just running the 5001 alone? The Fubar and a refurbished 5001 run the same price so that helps.

I have a pair of 580's and I listen to all sorts of music, mostly Rock and Classical.

Get the Fubar III and you're done. No internal soundcard will matter because it uses USB. So, it's an external soundcard.

I'll never buy another standalone disc player.
