i built my first cmoy and the problem is that the music comes through but theres a lot of static and its at a very loud volume all the time. i think my problem is that i connected the jacks and pot incorrectly. i cant read the schematics for the jacks and pots so i dunno which leads are the ground, the ins and, the outs. if someone could either tell me which leads are which or explain to me how to read those schematics. i kno how to read power and resistor schematics but not lead layouts

OK. I'm going to give this a shot for you. First let's start with the Panasonic pot. Hold the pot with the shaft facing you. This will give you six pins from left to right. The right channel goes like this: The incoming right channel signal coming from the RCA jack connects to the sixth pin(I3), pin I2 connects to pin 3 of the right channel opamp, pin I1 connects to signal ground. The left channel goes like this: The incoming left channel signal coming from the RCA jack connects to pin II3, pin II2 connects to pin 3 of the left channel opamp, pin II1 connects to the signal ground.

Now for the 3.5 mm jack. Pin 1 connects to signal ground. Pin 2 connects to the output of the right channel opamp. Pin 5 connects to the output of the left channel opamp. If the left and right channel s are reversed then reverse pin 2 and 5. I hope I have helped.
