So I was playing on my laptop when the back of my ipod touch 4g touched the 3.5mm jack for my headphones (audio-technica m-50) which were plugged in my pc. When my ipod is not touching that same spot where it touched in the first place, the audio quality sounds terrible w/no bass/treble. Please help me :frowning2:

I don't really understand what you mean. Do your M50's sound poor whatever they are plugged into now? Sounds very strange what could have caused it.
How can something touch your headphone jack when it is plugged into your laptop? When you say the jack, do you mean the metal shielding further back. Sometimes, but now often you can get interference but I don't know what your problem is.

If they are under warranty, maybe contact Audio Techinica. If they are not under warranty any more, maybe try rewireing them with a new plug.

I have used this sort of plug before and it should work fine with the M50s cable. You will have to read up about how to do this though because I don't know enough about it to explain it to you well.
If you are not at all experienced at doing anything like this, maybe don't attempt it.

What I meant to say was that my headphones were plugged in and the back of my Ipod made of stainless steel touched the actual metal thing that is already attached to my headphones which is used to connect to devices like cellphones, computer, etc..

I can't see how from the scenario you have described this would have any affect on the sound, how hard did the ipod touch the connector, did it bend the jack, do the headphones sound ok from other sources?

After a day of my computer being shut off, everything is fine now. Thank you guys so much for taking time out of your days to help me fix my problem.

The first thing you should try is maybe testing your headphones on a different source. Such as a TV or something similar. It was probably related to your computer and other equipment and not your headphones. Sometimes, doing a total restart of everything can solve sound problems.
