Ok... Sorryfor all the threads about ultrasones, I am just trying to make a decision and can't find anything using search function.

Which ultrasones are reccomended out of the 2400 and 680, 780 or any of the others (under £240)...

I am looking for good bass, good midrange and smooth treble.... I am looking for which ultrasone has the most recessed / smoothest / less peircing treble....

I have denon d2000 atm and I like them but I find the treble a bit annoying... How would the ultrasones compare? Apprently some models have agressive treble and some have more recessed?

This is the last thread I make on ultrasones I promise!

Adjust your EQ

You might try to apply a slight reverb to tame the highs. I use reverberate + m7 impulse but that's not a free solution.
Otherwise some people are complaining regarding a slight trebble roll off with sennheiser headphones, so they might suit you: hd650, hd600..
But they don't have the best bass.

Hmm yes I did find the treble on the 840's overly sharp and peircing sounding...

I am not sure if i should bother trying the Ultrasones or not.... Reports such as "metallic treble" are a bit offputting...

I thought that some Ultrasones have less treble? Such as the 2400?

My post #1 :)

Hi All,

Please, gods of Head-Fi make this thread revive!

I am trying to decide between HFI 680 and 2400...

I've read all the reviews on them, the price is just right for both

... but couldn't find a comparison between these two.

I"d appreciate a few words on this.

Thank You!

Well, are you looking for closed or open headphones?

doesn't really matter

I just need another "perspective" when checking my mixes and thought an Ultrasone HP would make a nice new one ... this (HFI 680/2400) would be my first Ultrasone...
