I know there are many threads about these cans and I've read lots of them, but I still can't decide which can is the best for me.
I've listened to the DT770 PRO/80 and that one has a little too much bass for me. When I listened to the DT770 PRO/80 and I kept the earpads about one milimeter from my head, I liked it a lot more. There was still enough bass, but not that overwhelming. So was wondering: maybe the DT770 Premium/250 would be a good choice for me? Or is the difference in bass between the PRO and the premium not that big?
If not, I will probably go for the DT880. After a lot of reading, I understand these cans are very very good and there is only one reason to choose the DT770 instead of the DT880 and that is being a basshead. Well, I'm not. I like bass, but not overwhelming. Now, when I'm reading about the DT880 on this forum, most of the time it's not really clear if you guys are talking about the PRO or the premium ones. Can someone tell the main differences between them? Beyerdynamic says it's the same as with the DT770. So the PRO's are more clamping, but does that mean they give more bass like the 770 PRO? How can one describe the bass you get with a DT880 PRO? Is it overwhelming, like with the DT770 PRO?
Oh yeah, I'm also thinking about the HD650, but maybe that one has also too much bass for me? It's a shame there aren't any shops anymore where you can listen to all these cans. At least not in my neighbourhood.
I hope someone can answer these questions. I will use the cans on my Marantz SR5005 receiver.
Btw, sorry if I'm my English isn't perfect. I'm not a native speaker.
