Playing an HDCD in an SACD player; will it pick up the HDCD info?

Well, the newest generation from the 2910 and upwards does. The 1920 does not.

In the previous generation it was the A1, A11, 3800 and possibly the 2800MKII as far as I remember. My own 2200 for instance does not.

I can see from your profile that you owned a 2900, so I guess you should know; but according to all reviews I have read and Denon's own specifications the 2900 did not support HDCD, allthough it had a HDCD icon in the display window, supposedly because the window was shared with another model.

a player will only playback the HDCD content of a CD if it has the "HDCD" logo stamped somewhere on the player.

Sorry, my memory is not what it used to be, I thought it did, but perhaps I am thinking of the 3910 I currently own.
