I was looking for better gaming headphones coz mine broke, found the ATH-AD700 and went on here and looked at all the reviews. After that head-fi kept popping up when I looked at different headphones (I was bored

I tried and couldn't do it with Grado's.. I find the K702 to preform very well with MW2 as it has a huge soundstage.

Grados just seem like a bad idea for gaming considering they have almost no sound stage.

Ahh, yep. I play my 360 with my D7000s. MW2 is great; I can hear everything. I'm a little afraid to play Condemned again; the first time I played it, it scared me during certain levels and that was with a set of speakers. I can't imagine how it would be with headphones.

You guys used it un-amped, headphone out of your desktop ?

Nope, I have my 360s HDMI out to my TV. Then I run my TV's optical output to my DAC, then that goes to my WA22.

When I was running my WA22 straight from my T.V. (RCA outputs), I got a pretty bad buzzing around 11 o'clock on the volume dial, but now it's dead quiet and sounds awesome.

I tried it out last week with my 325is. It was crazy the amount of sounds you miss out on. In derail, around the electric facility, you can hear the electricity buzzing. All kinds of neat stuff in the game. I do need to figure out how to use a mic though.

I run it straight out of my comp, should I have some sort of amp for it?

Same here haha

was initially using sennheiser pc160 for gaming on tf2 and css

tried using akg k702 w stock cable, headphone out.

everything clear.. and its really great that the "bass" is lowered alot, alot alot, as those rifle shots in css is really deafening on my pc160, which is alot better on my akgs.
Yeah, can hear alittle more details, but doesn't really affect my game play as much, just that I was unequipped with a mic, hence I solo-ed gameplay and played better o.o, as i wasn't chit chatting, or wasting my time talking and spend more time killing.

but I don't get what they said about pin-point accuracy of the guns and explosion ???
don't really feel it, guess i will need to use a dac ?

I don't know about the higher end Grado's, but playing something like Call of Duty or Counter-Strike with SR60s was horrible. Any type of gun fire or explosions were completely muted. Sounds much better with my HD650s, but I'm sure it would sound better still with some of the other (non-Grado) headphones suggested in this thread.
