Planning a PINT

I'm planning on building myself a PINT to use with my HD580's. What should I set the gain at, and which resistors do I need to use to accomplish it? Also, what kind of batter life can I expect with a single 9v? Thanks.

default gain of six should be fine with cans like that

about the battery, you really should only use NiMH ones as they can deliver the amount of current the dual 8397s need, whereas alkalines will die prematurely. a single 9.6v NiMH would last about 2-3 hours.
