So I've decided to get a EMU 0404 for my laptop and I was toying with the idea of buying it from the States and have it imported (I'm in Canada). I was wondering if any of you American Head-Fiers know of good reliable websites that ship to Canada for reasonable prices.

The best one I could find was http://www.floridamusicco.com/prodde...u_0404_usb.htm which sells it for $179US but I don't know how reputable they are. If anyone has any experience with that site/company, do share. Just to compare, the cheapest I can get the 0404 for in Canada is $262CAD or roughly $243USD after tax.

Thanks! :]

did you go to long and mcquade and show them what prices are available on the internet; they offered me 300 for a set of ER4S with lifetime warranty supplied by them, kinda still a ripoff, but makes me feel more satisfied knowing that if i blow the drivers i wont have to pay shipping back and forth and ill get a new pair for sure.

I got tired of shopping for a online dealer from the US who would ship to Canada. In the end I figured that if I got busted for taxes/duty at the border I might as well buy from inside Canada.

I ended up buying from http://www.stevesmusic.com/ . The card arrived quickly (3 days from order), shipped via purolator. The price was fair overall. They charge less for shipping than it actually costs them. No taxes because they ship from Quebec and I'm in Ontario. I would fully recommend them based on the availability and price within Canada.

Yeah that's where I was looking at. I have a Steve's Music Store here in Ottawa and I was planning to buy it there but given the fact that there's an insane amount of taxes, I opted out. So if you ordered from their website you don't pay any tax at all? How much was shipping? If this works out to be pretty low then I might as well just get it from them.

I paid $250.88 (~230 USD) shipped to my door from Steve's Music in Montreal. This included gst but not pst because it was bought outside of the province. The shipping only cost my $6.73 for express via purolator.

I looked around a lot to try to find an american vendor. Most of them won't ship to Canada. The ones who would ship here were the less reputable sellers. On top of that I decided I wanted the card quickly, and didn't want to have to pay taxes when it arrived at my door. It turned out to be an easy choice for me.
