Have some problem producing some tones,....

music source for cd
music type : Asian, Chinese, Cantonese, Japanese


problem : most ending of each phrase which end some words that end with a "ing" sound, like ching, sing, "c" and "s" . I hear high pitch distortion.

I have tried the Ms1 to Ms Pro , some beyer, although the sennheiser HD595 is slightly less significant of the distortion but there is still existence....

What is the solution? My ears or headphones?

I can lower down the volume, but some artifacts are missing

if the output is from a speaker there is no such problem.

what you're hearing is most likely clipping in the recording itself. You can either buy equipment with a warmer sound signature or try to edit the recording with a sound editor program such as audacity (very time consuming and tricky).

I've had the same problem as you in the past, but now with my current equipment (AlienDAC -> Headfive -> AKG K501) sibilance and clipping no longer bother me as much.

This can be an issue with digital recording - transients can clip even if the signal in it's most part does not- sounds like bad engineering or just that your need warmer and more forgiving gear.
