I got out of the movie less than an hour ago. Excellent film. Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and cast give an excellent performance. I can't find anything wrong with it. Good movie through and through, I reccommend it to anyone and everyone.

Hmmm... The Chicago Trib only gave it 2.5 stars, but said it was a good film as long as you didn't expect too much. Oh well, it's at least a refresher in this summer of sequels.

Regarding League....
I was disappointed to see, as I gather
from the trailer, that Miss Murray plays
a small role. But check out the Alan Moore comic,
it's great.

After my best friend told me LOEG was just okay, and he is a major comic buff...I decided to pass on it and check out POTC with my wife tomorrow. I'll let you know what I think.

Johnny Depp is one of my favourite actors though, so I have high hopes. Plus I love pirates.

Part of this movie was filmed on the island where i work; Canouan in St. Vincent and the Grenadines? I was too busy at work however to go sneak a peak

Yes! I just got back from this and now I wanna be a pirate, arrrr! It was entertaining, and Johnny Depp's character was done very well. 'legolas' (bloom) was pretty good, but cliche as the clean-cut hero-type. There were some fairly cool references to the Disney ride, and some nice swashbuckling scenes. I'd recommend the movie, but I don't think all the rave reviews are entirely justified. It was good, but not THAT amazing.

Note to you summer blockbuster moviegoers... bring a pair of er-20's with you. My right ear was hurting horribly after the show, and it's usually my left ear with the tinnitus problems...

I thought the movie was alright. I didn't go in with high expectations at all, and I was relieved that the movie was entertaining and humorous. The lines were cheesy, and the acting was marginal, but hey....its just a pirate movie.
