If you like that take a listen to A Saucerful o fSecrets. I believe that was their second album, and teh last one that the other band member did before taking those 200 hits of acid and frying his brain. DSOTM was their first album they did without the guy, and I imagine it would have been even better had Sid Barret, I think the guys name, would have been in reality still as of the release of DSOTM.

WOOHOO, I was only one letter off!!!! I can't believe I remembered the guy's name. I remember the interview with him a few years ago where his mom is taking care of him and says that DSOTM would have been ever better had Syd been in the band when they released it!! Maybe she's on to sumfin there???

Meddle and Wish You Were Here were my all time favorites and what I listened to far more than anything else!! Although DSOTM was really good, it was not as enjoyable to me time after time of listening to their music. After seeing them in concert in London twice I really appreciated their music even more!!! I really liked their album that came out in '93, but it took a while for it to grow on me!!!!

Check out 'Relics' too. That has a lot of 'Floyd's earlier stuff, some from pre-piper such as Arnold Layne and See Emily Play. Those are defintely barret-caliber pieces! There is some overlap with Piper, Saucerful, and i believe it was 'More'.

Piper really was a great album, and personally I have enjoyed all of Pink Floyd's albums. The only one I absolutely cannot stand is 'Delicate Sound of Thunder'. Gilmour just couldn't sing at that time, in my opinion.

But if you really liked Piper, defintely check out A Saucerful of Secrets, too. while barret only appears on 'jugband blues' (i think) the music is similar to Piper.

Also, definitely check out Atom Heart Mother. The title track is definitely my favorite Floyd song, and the album as a whole is probably their most underrated.

Also, just in case some were wondering, DSOM was released 1973. Piper in 1967. Between Piper and DSOM were the following albums:

A Saucerful of Secrets, 1968 (end barret)
Ummagumma, 1969
Relics, 1970
Atom Heart Mother, 1970
Meddle, 1971

Also 'More' and 'Obscured by Clouds' fit in there somewhere too. I think More was '69, but I am not certain on that.
