Another thread was discussing a pair of RS-1 on eBay purchased by wertherdvx. Out of curiosity I looked at what he purchased recently and came across the Pioneers.

The only thing I could find on Google is the index for July 62. They look like they are hooked up to the speaker jacks on an amp, like an electrostatic. They look interesting. They probably sound horrible, but for $20, I might buy a pair if they come up again.

8 ohms argues paper cone drivers, which means they're most likely only of historic value.

Paper cones can be hooked to speaker outs pretty easily because they are essentially old-fashioned loudspeaker tweeters. Some early extremely high impedance mylar dome (i.e., modern dynamic) headphones can also reportedly stand a speaker out, for instance the original 2k ohm Senn HD414.
