Nice. Where'd you get those tube guardrails? I'd like to add those to my LD2s. Also, how'd you stick the wood panels on? Does the heat affect it? I'm interested in mods that would help to dissipate some of the heat. Any ideas on how to accomplish this?

Tube guards I bought on ebay from a guy in Australia. Wood panels are screwed on from the inside. I don't have the heat problems some have but I have read some folks drilled holes in the bottom to help cool the unit. If you take out only the lower 2 screws on the front and the back panels the bottom will come off.

Looks nice but isn't wood somewhat of an insulator? You basically covered a large area of the case which is used as a heatsink with an insulating material... Why would you do that?

As stated I don't have the same heat problems as some have with this amp and after putting on the wood I still don't. I don't know why...lucky I guess. And of course you know the wood on top is just the transformer cover so that isn't insulating any heat generating parts.

You'd be surprised how hot those power trannys get after about an hour--In fact all tube amps I have ever used run their power transformers on the warm side.

Probably a minor issue, if that, and it does look very nice. I'd do this to mine
