How does the modded iPod sound compared to the iPod before the mod? I really want to give it a try if I know what I am doing.

Thanks man, I like her. Sorry for the misleading post. I don't have an iMod...yet! The LOD is DIY.

LMAO. American girls, can't beat 'em. I left my home country and moved to Cali for mine :D

Can't really comment since I've only had American girls, but I'll go ahead and agree anyway.

I need to stay strong and avoid upgrading to the D5000. It's so damn tempting though. I've heard that modding your D2000 can make them as good or better than the D5000. You guys think there's any truth to that, or is it just wistful D2000 owners hoping, and posturing?

(Sorry.) You can mod the D2000 to out do the D5000, but it would cost more than a D7000 (lately been going for 650 or so new) and the D7000 has even more potential for modding.

In Short: Buy a D7000 and mod it over time.

You can certainly mod a D5000 to out-do the D7000 because they use the same drivers, but no matter how much you mod the D2000 the driver will always hold them back ever so slightly.

FWIR, the D2000 and D5000 share the same drivers but not the D7000. But I am not 100% sure.

You're right. Not sure how I got them mixed up. Guess I have been out of touch with the series since I sold my D7000. Thanks for correcting me. :D

EDIT: Fixed.

D2000 and D5000 are exactly the same other than their different housing. D7000 are great cans if you don't plan on taking the Lawton route.

You should ask headfier julianbell92. He had the D5000, but sold them off and bought the D2000, modded them with Lawtown Wood cups and a DIY Toxic Cables copper recable. I think he did some other mods with some damping material as well.
